In her works Eva Brunner depicts the various layers of reality and their underlying narrative structures – their disruptions and fragmentations. She is intrigued with the complexity of identity („Being Barbara“)
and the intricacies of nature within a world of artificiality („No escape from paradise“).
Swiss-born writer and photographer Eva studied Communications at the American College of Rome, Italy. After first jobs as a theatre photographer she started writing plays that were premiered in Rome and in Luzern (Switzerland). In 1987 she won a Writer’s Residency by the Berlin Senate and moved to Berlin, working as a writer and translator. 2007 she took up photography again - as a masterclass student with Arno Fischer at the Ostkreuzschule Berlin, followed by workshops with Anders Petersen, Sven Marquardt & Wolfgang Zurborn.
